★★★★☆ | Mystery-Suspense | Audio | Borrow | StoryGraph | Goodreads

I listened to the audio book of this one. The story is told by Dolores as part of a police interview. There are no other speakers. She tells the entire story in one setting. The audio book narrator was pretty good. Hard Maine accent with plenty of emotion.
There was no supernatural things in the book except what might have been imagined by Dolores. King leaves this vague. Was the little girl she saw in her visions real? Was Vera really talking to her from beyond the grave?

“…most of what bein human’s about is making choices and payin the bills when they come due. Some of the choices are pretty goddam nasty, but that don’t give a person leave to just walk away from em… In a case like that, you just have to make the best choice you can n then pay the price.”
